This book is a selection of short stories written from the point of view of a 6-7 year old girl about her younger sister. The stories are about simple every-day events - a birthday party, a visit to school, the lady who lives next door etc. Each story focuses on something naughty that the little sister does, but often these 'naughty' events are no more than anyone would expect from a 3 or 4 year old. There are frequent asides from the older sister to the reader, e.g. "you wouldn't do anything like that, would you?"
These are delightful stories, and it is easy to warm to both sisters. The author has captured very well the righteous indignation of a young girl who thinks she is so much more grown up than her younger sister. Each story is only about 6 pages long, which makes them good as a bedtime read-aloud. I warmly recommend them.

These are very moral stories, with a clear distinction between right and wrong. The stories are quite old fashioned now, so some things will need explaining to a modern child.
