Description[]
Two nine-year-old girls, Lisa Palfy) from Vienna, and respectful shy Lottie Horn from Munich meet in a summer camp where it is discovered that they are identical twins whose parents divorced, each keeping one of the girls. The girls decide to trade places at the end of the summer so that Lottie will have a chance to get to know her father and Lisa will get to meet her mother while also conspiring to bring the two divorcees back together.
The most recognized adaptation of the book comes from David Swift's film, The Parent Trap in 1961 with Hayley Mills playing both twins. He would remake the film again in 1998 with Lindsey Lohan.
