Gaal the Conqueror is a children's fantasy novel, written by John White, and published in 1986. Chronologically, it is the second book in White's fantasy series The Archives of Anthropos, although it was actually published fourth.
When young Eleanor MacFarland runs away from her home one winter night, John Wilson tries to find her. But as the boy follows her footsteps across a frozen lake, he passes through an invisible door - out of this world and into the greatest crisis yet to face the land of Anthropos. The two children suddenly find themselves swept into a conflict between the evil forces of the sorcerer Shagah and the rebels loyal to Gaal, Son of the High Emperor.
Another adventure from John White, Gaal the Conqueror picks up where The Sword Bearer left off, with the main characters being John the Sword Bearer, and a new character, Eleanor.

Another magnificent book about the magical land of Anthropos, with John, the main character from the earlier book, The Sword Bearer, again appearing. This time they have to confront the dreadful sorcerer Shagah, and his circle of Nine, which are currently controlling everybody. Can John and Eleanor find a way of stopping him?

A lot of allegories, including Gaal being Jesus, and the Changer being God.
