Geoffrey Trease tells the life of Sir Walter Raleigh as an adventure story, building from the characters' historical evidence. He lets the reader see the Devon boy, growing to manhood, and through his various exploits and adventures.

An excellent story-form biography, which I really enjoyed. Obviously, Raleigh dies at the end, which is sad, but I just about coped :)
