Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz is the fourth Oz book, written by L. Frank Baum.
Dorothy is once again sucked into a fairy country, but this time she is with her second cousin Zebediah, Jim the Cabhorse, and her pet cat Eureka. They fall through a crack during an earthquake and start off fantastic journeys in dangerous lands, with vegetable people and invisible bears and wooden gargoyles. Their main hope is to get back home safely, and, joined by the Wizard, they travel on.

L. Frank Baum was getting tired of writing about the Land of Oz, but his readers kept begging him for more. He wrote practically this whole book about lands inside the world, and ended with a few chapters of the Emerald City (I guess that is a spoiler). Still, it was very good for an Oz book. (The previous one, too, was more about the Land of Ev than Oz.) The Oz books are absolutely wonderful for the imagination put into them, and it is easy to see why the books have lasted so long.
