Description[]
At first the father has an accident and they have to move to a flat. Thay have a dog and dogs are not allowed in flats. There are 3 children in this book, Bill, Carol, and Tim. The youngest boy, Tim, meets a young lad called Jim and his grandfather. Jim has heard of a large house that has not been used for years. They go to Caldicot Place and get boarders to come and stay there. In the end the father comes home from the hospital and some of the boarders stay with them to be brought up as their own children.
